Pay your parking charge at the Heritage Centre reception, then walk back up to the main road.
Cross the road, turn right then almost immediately left following the bridlepath sign to Three Cliffs Bay and Penmaen.
Continue straight along the bridlepath, uphill through woodland (ignore the footpath on left to
Three Cliffs Bay). Go through a metal gate, and continue along track past campsite at North Hills Farm.
Leave the farm along the farm road and turn right into a cul-de-sac, then almost immediately left.
The road leads downhill past a National Trust sign (Notthill). At the end of the road, follow the path past
a metal gate. At the sign pictured on the left, turn right (following Coast Path to Three Cliffs Bay and
Penmaen Burrows).

We spent time enjoying the sunshine on the beach, before setting off to return to Parkmill.
Pennard Castle is visible on the clifftop opposite. We walked across the beach, paddled across the stream (not advisable at high tide)
to join the main
path from the beach back to Parkmill (to avoid having to paddle, follow stream up to stepping stones).
Bear right from the main path up the hillside towards the castle.
There are wooden steps and a boardwalk, possibly to protect the dunes (they were half buried when
we completed this walk, and certainly didn't make walking on the sand any easier).

Pass the ruins of Pennard Castle, and follow small permissive footpath markers across
Pennard Golf course. These bring you to a bridlepath. Turn left along this. Continue along bridlepath
as other paths join from both sides. After passing close by housing on the right, the path enters
woodland, going uphill at first, then dropping down to meet the main Parkmill - Three Cliffs footpath.
Turn right along this, then left to cross footbridge over river. The narrow path runs alongside
a field (sometimes used as a car park) to emerge on to the road opposite Shepherd's. Cross the road, and bear left down the
back road to return to the heritage centre.
