Around Stanhope, Weardale (approx 5 miles)

Map: Sheet 307 Consett & Derwent Reservoir
Start: Park in the Durham Dales Centre car park, Stanhope (NY996392)
Route: The route is based on one downloaded from the www.visitnortheastengland website. However we started by walking along the river, rather than through the village. There's plenty of variety, with walking along the wide River Wear, then up a narrow, wooded valley. The walk continues on the moors above weardale, then retuns to Stanhope through old quarry workings.
